Deyanira Mendoza Dominguez

Made in Mexico but purely Canadian, Deyanira (Deya) is an experienced Professional Engineer, Certified Project Manager, and Woman of Action. Her motto is “making the impossible possible”. Deya is the first published Mexican woman to complete a continuous two-year return motorcycle journey through the Americas, doing research in 16 countries. She supports underprivileged girls and is an equity advocate for women and immigrants. Deya believes in leaving a place better than she found it and is noted for being tenacious, organized, collaborative, and an engaging facilitator. Deya believes in living small and with less, alternative energies, and prioritizing physical and mental health. Deyanira is one of the 250 Canadians who was selected to be a part of the 2020 Governor General's Canadian Leadership Conference where candidates bring their skills and expertise in an effort to “help shape Canadians’ responses to upcoming challenges" and recently recognized with “Mentor of the Year Award 2020” by Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).
