Matt Scherer has spent 40years as a communicator in the military and afterwards, a successful career as a social media and public relations consultant. Matt has written ttwo books on LinkedIn with one focusing on helping military professionals in transition. He also completed a second book aimed at helping high school and college students master this social media powerhouse. How, he’s working on his third book, aimed at helping project managers capitalize on LinkedIn.As a speaker, Matt has spoken to PMI chapters in Saudi Arabia, Zimbabwe, Romania, Finland and the United States.As a military professional, Matt was honored for his community affairs work at Lowry Air Force Base, Colo., where he was given “Technical Sergeant David M. Scherer in the City and County of Denver” day. There, he transformed a program from one with 11 volunteers into one that generated an annual contribution of more than 300 volunteers with school adoption programs, military parade participation and other civic outreach efforts. He later served at Allied Forces Southern Europe where he represented NATO as an enlisted command spokesman on ABC Good Morning America and the CBS Morning News.
