Agile is fundamentally about shortening the time it takes to deliver your products to users and to learn from them. Traditional management practices were developed during the industrial revolution when markets were slow, the competition was weak, and our workforce was largely uneducated. These traditional management practices are now getting mediocre results at best!

We need to use empirical emergent practices if we want to be effective.
