Critical Success Factors of Large Complex Projects

Large projects are often long duration and complex that involves also new generation technologies. They require special focus and abilities to succeed in project performance delivery.

Often they involve large capital and also have much greater social significance.  The clearance of such large projects are given considering many social impact of the projects and social cost benefit analysis. As such, project scope and stakeholder analysis for those projects also require much greater and in -depth analysis. Even small tasks and activities , if overlooked, can lead to project delay by several months and even sometimes legal complications causing long delays and huge overrun.

For example, a hydel power plant in remote areas can get delayed for the reason that the road condition through mountainous terrain is not suitable to transport the turbine by road to the project site. Or say, a refinery project is facing land acquisition difficulties taking long time to settle. These small issues can cause very long delay and overrun on budget and time.

This short session will highlight some of those critical success criteria.
